GENTILEZA is a sound art project developed by Sara Pereira & Catarina Miranda & Guests.
Started in 2005, it mainly consists of a long term research, relating sound, visual, performance and speech. Exploring Voice as a living organism through wet-dry-bird-stone textures and resonances in the body and outside of it, through its echoe. Producing sound carpets through the recording and processing of self made sound objects, found objects, nature objects, sustained by digital deep drones.
Sara Pereira born in 1983, Leiria (Portugal). Studied Fine Arts - Painting in Fine Arts Porto University. Co-founded Marvellous Tone Collective for experimental electronic music (2005), Piso collective for collaboration residencies (2008) and the Cultural Space Altes Finanzamt (Berlin, 2010).
Since 2008 is living in Berlin where, among others, develops work in Piso Collective and Gentileza.
Catarina Miranda born in Coimbra/ Portugal in 1982.
Graduation in Visual Arts at the Fine Arts School - University of Porto (2001-2006);

"Formação Intensiva Aplicada" Dance Course at Centro Em Movimento (Lisbon, 2006/07);
"Berlin Post School For Physical Theatre and Dance" at K.I.M/ Tanzfabrik (Berlin/ 2010);
Lives and works in Berlin. Co-founder of Piso Collective, Gentileza, Altes Finanzamt, Flocks and Shoals Collective with whom develops artistic creation and production.
